PROGRAMMABLE THERMOCOUPLE METER W/RS-232 INTERFACE MODEL 169, 269, 369, 469
Model 169, 269, 369, 469 is a low-cost thermocouple indicator with advanced microprocessor-based capabilities, which make it versatile, easy to use and extremely accurate. FRONT-PANEL PROGRAMMING The 269 can handle seven thermocouple types and display temperature in °C or °F, as selected by plug-in jumpers behind the lens. It covers the entire temperature range for each thermocouple type in one scale and with extremely low conformity errors (difference between the actual reading and the NIST tables). Calibrating zero and span of a special linear 20 to +80 mV range automatically calibrates all thermocouple ranges in °C or °F. OPTICALLY ISOLATED SERIAL ASCII OUTPUT The 269 provides an optically isolated serial-ASCII output as a standard feature for data transfer to the RS-232 port of a computer or programmable controller. This output is imple-mented by an open-collector transistor and requires external power. In case of an IBM PC or compatible, this power can be easily obtained from the external RS-232 port by adding an external resistor, as shown in the connect diagram at the end of the data sheet. PANEL-MOUNT OR BENCH-STYLE CASE The standard case of the 269 is 1/8 DIN-sized and is suitable for panel mounting. This case can further be mounted in an optional bench-style case, which is available for one thermocouple input or with a rotary switch for 12 inputs. For additional information, please refer to the Options and Mechanical sections.
